My name is Sean Sperte (pronounced “spur-tee”). I’m a user experience designer (and consultant). For almost 12 years I worked for The City Church in Seattle in the Communications and Media departments. I also co-founded Sky Balloon Studio, a software design company that creates iOS apps. More recently I co-founded Tagboard, a startup in Redmond, WA.

I’m 31 years-old, married to Casey, and have a two kids: a beautiful girl named Lucy, and a boy named Maddox (we call him Max). I live in Kirkland, Washington, on Seattle’s Eastside.
I’ve been blogging (here) since 2005, and creating websites for almost 20 years.
About this site
The name for this site is a play-on-words of “Meek and Mild”. I try to write about things that interest me, which are typically those of technical nature — or what some would consider “geeky”.
I use ExpressionEngine, and host the site on Media Temple.
I use Photoshop to build the graphics, Espresso for HTML and CSS, MarsEdit and Byword for writing, and Transmit for heavy-duty FTP tasks.
Some of my most popular (or favorite) posts:
- Setting Up a Killer, Local Web Development Environment on a Mac with MAMP and VirtualHostX
- An Introduction to ExpressionEngine
- Creating a ‘Make Title Case’ Service in Snow Leopard
- Jobs
- Giving Credit Versus Giving Appreciation
- Spam Free Email (For iPhone) and Spam Free Redux
- Entitlemint

Until March 2012 I allowed and welcomed comments from readers. I got tired of fighting comment spam and styling comments and forms every time I redesigned. I still welcome (and appreciate) feedback via email or Twitter.
