Geek & Mild by Sean Sperte

Me My name is Sean Sperte (pronounced “spur-tee”). I work for The City Church (and Generation Church), creating graphics, websites, and PowerPoint presentations. I have worked there for over ten years, and consider it more than a job; it’s a passion and calling.

I’m 29 years-old, and married to an incredible woman, Casey. We have a beautiful baby girl named Lucy — she already tweets and has a blog.

I’m a geek, and have been for most of my life. Before my parents got their first computer, a Macintosh LC in 1990, I regularly used my grandparents’ Apple computers. I’ve owned a Mac Classic, Plus, LC, Quadra 700, Performa 630CD, PowerMac 6100/66, Motorola StarMax 5500, 17-inch PowerBook G4, and a 15-inch PowerBook G4. I currently use a 15-inch MacBook Pro (early-2008 model) for work and a 13-inch MacBook Pro (mid-2009) at home.

About this site

The name for this site is a play-on-words of “Meek and Mild”. I try to write about things that interest me, which are typically those of technical nature — or what some would consider “geeky”.

I use ExpressionEngine as my blogging platform, and host the site on DreamHost. (Those are referral links.)

The opinions and views I publish here are my own — they do not reflect those of The City Church or its pastors.

I’ve been blogging (here) since 2005, and creating websites for almost two decades.

Offline

When I’m not tweaking websites and reading my favorite blogs, you’ll usually find me with my wife and family, listening to music, playing Nintendo (Wii or DS Lite) with my iPhone, taking pictures, or browsing the local Apple Store. I play the guitar, too.

Feel free to email me directly, if you’d like, or follow my Twitter feed.
