Dodginess just follows this guy around.

Can’t think of anything to add to make it any better..

Does this mean you’re gonna start using NNW?

§  Shawn Blanc · 08 January 2008

Probably, Shawn; but right now I’m RSS free.

Even with Acquisition v1, he had affiliate pages in the app itself and when you closed up the unregistered version, it would open up the default browser and point it to his Amazon referral page. I’m some what surprised he played around with the searches to have his referral pages up first, in Inquisitor. I didn’t think he would stoop that low. To think, I even donated to the app when it first came out.

I’m all for developers making money and I’m sure he makes good money with the apps themselves, but there is no need to be so secretive about it. Now to find a RSS reader like NewsFire. I might give NNW (Lite) at try but until then, Google Reader is what I’ll be using.

My dealings with Mr Watanabe have found him rude, and uncooperative. So after I tried for ages to find an RSS app that looked as good as Newfire, even trying to customise Vienna RSS I decided to go with Google Reader. Using Jon Hicks’ CSS Replacement for Google Reader, and embedding it into Readomatic application, (a single website application like Fluid), you have the best of both worlds- and the closest to a non-Watanabe reader.
That said I still use Inquisitor, Safari feels like a lame-duck without it. I can provide links to all the above mentioned, but thought it was best not to riddle my first comment on your site will external links!
