One of my favorite software companies in the world, Panic, just launched their Panic Blog. I’ve always admired the company’s candor and attitude in their communications. It’s very human.
They have this to say about not giving release dates for software updates:
The #1 reason? We’ll almost certainly miss them, and you’ll be angry when we do. We’re a small company working on many things, and these things take time, so please have patience while we work! Thanks!
You know why that’s such an effective answer? Because it’s honest, and I can relate. Again: human.
