This screenshot of the Mail app preferences on iPhone shows a tab for Exchange. Still no official word from Apple, though.
There has been official word, the iPhone supports the same Exchange that Mail.app on OS X supports. It’s not really Exchange support but more or less a conduit with some special tricks in it to connect to and Exchange server through IMAP but then hide the public folders and other unnecessary stuff.
For it to be of any use, people in a corporate environment have to convince their IT staff that manager the server to enable IMAP access for outside devices, something most IT managers will not even hesitate in saying no to as they view it as a security concern.
